Superstar Salman Khan, who became popular as Prem thanks to his characters in Sooraj Barjatya’s films like “Maine Pyar Kiya” and “Hum Saath-Saath Hain”, is now celebrating 20 years of their blockbuster hit film “Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!”.
The musical family drama that released on this day in 1994 was hugely successful, with a star cast including Madhuri Dixit, Anupam Kher, Mohnish Behl, Renuka Shahane, Reema Lagoo and Alok Nath.
Anupam tweeted: "Happy 20th birthday to one of my most successful and cherished films - HUM AAPKE HAI KAUN. Thank you Sooraj for making this classic."
Salman and Barjatya are celebrating its success on the sets of their new film, which is titled “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo”
What better occasion is there to list down the many reasons we love 'Hum Aapke Hai Kaun'!
1. What's not to love about the music!
Everything in this movie could be set to a tune; from chocolate, lime juice to didi's dewar, really what's not to like about the music! 5 additional points for rolling in the hay.
2. Performer Extraordinaire - Tuffy
He can dance, umpire a cricket match, protect your shoes, communicate in secret codes - Oh wait...is Tuffy, Batman?
3. Cues For Every Wedding
Planning a wedding? Running out of ideas? Hum Aapke Hai Kaun is the manual that all wedding planners worth their salt follow. Games - check. Outfits - Check. Decor - Check. Sanskari fun - Check.
4. The Definitive Sanskar Academy
Can't get your head around how you can be a sanskari beta, an ideal bahu, a perfect pet? Everyone in this film, from Alok Nath to Tuffy, will give you lessons on model behaviour.
5. The Drool-worthy Spread
There was so much food in this movie that we would trade our left arm for! Someone give us that spread.
6. Baby Salman > Adult Salman
In a battle between Salman from Hum Aapke Hai Kaun and Salman from Kick, the former version wins hands down. No pelvic thrusts or chewing women's skirts FTW.
7. Madhuri and Salman's Earth Shattering Dance Moves
We're surprised this swinging duo didn't bust a hip. We're pretty sure we can replicate their fervour but give us the film and we'll watch it on loop.
8. The Anupam Kher, Reema Lagoo and Alok Nath Love Triangle
This love triangle is stuff of legends! Where else will you find Alok Nath makes eyes at a married woman?
